![]() ![]() ![]() Nyx describes Persephone as respectable and stately, while Persephone was grateful for Nyx's company and support during her initial time in the Underworld, later stating that she missed her and Cerberus the most out of all the denizens of the Underworld. Persephone and Nyx shared a friendly relationship during Persephone's time as Queen of the Underworld prior to Zagreus' birth. ![]() Persephone: Nyx's co-manager and close friend. He is grateful for all that Nyx has done and considers himself fortunate to have two wonderful mothers. It is eventually revealed that Nyx asked the Fates to revive the stillborn Zagreus, despite it being against the rules. She comforts him when he fails, but never sugarcoats the difficulties ahead. ![]() She fully supports his decision to leave the Underworld and helps him by giving him the Mirror of Night and contacting the Olympians on his behalf. Nyx cares for Zagreus as if he is her own child. It is revealed that despite being against the rules, Nyx made a deal with The Fates, her daughters, to bring Zagreus back from the dead, and they only relented after much insistence from Nyx, her own mother. One of Nyx's daughters, Eris seems to have a distant and dysfunctional relationship with her. It is assumed that the relationship with Moros, her son is distant, but it remains unknown. It seems that Nemesis is very loyal to his mother. Nemesis is very good at what she does and she is absent, fulfilling some task assigned to her. Nyx maintains a professional relationship with her children inside in the work environment, aiming to toughen them up. But her attempts to encourage his independence stem from both maternal care and her ongoing concerns about his work ethic she is expressly reassured to see him demonstrate capability, and the boundaries she sets are those she believes are in his interest, regardless of his opinion. Additionally, it is evident that Nyx rarely praises Hypnos: when she says that his "efforts should be commended" for the first time, he assumes that someone else praised him and makes several assumptions about who - deducing even Hades - without Nyx occurring to him as a possibility. As he receives it, she expects Zagreus to be prepared for it, referring to Hypnos. She anticipates that others will find her disposition unpleasant and, without warning, will offer to punish him on behalf of others. She instructs him not to call her "mother" in the main hall, which he does all the time, and also asks him not to talk to her during work hours, which he does. He also offers to help her with the affairs of the house, but she encourages him to continue helping in his own way.īelieving that Hypnos is overly dependent on her, Nyx strives to promote her son's independence by maintaining emotional distance. As his mother and superior, Nyx encourages Thanatos to strive to do his best in his work, due to its importance. They are similar in the sense that they move through the shadows, working against Hades to aid Zagreus, and he knows her well enough to know that she rarely changes her mind about matters related to the state of the House of Hades. Thanatos greatly respects his mother and constantly shows deference to her, which may have given him the reputation of being a "mommy's boy" among other subordinates in the House. Nyx praises Charon for his truly tireless work and considers him reliable and useful to the House. Nyx must have appreciated when Charon broke his vow of work to help Zagreus and Persephone. Nyx and her son seem to have a positive relationship, Charon always seems to be close by doing some activity for Nyx, whether it be rowing and transporting suffering souls across the river Styx or even fighting Infractors if necessary. Zagreus can choose to help Nyx reunite with Chaos, and the two can reignite their relationship. Despite the distance since childhood, they love their daughter Nyx. They reveal that they regret being an absent parent to their child and want to reconnect and spend more time with them, remembering the times they used to play hide-and-seek when they were still together. Chaos does not directly enter the world they created and interact with their children because Chaos' mere presence can risk destabilizing existence. This was partly due to the expectations that Chaos placed on Nyx, and also because Nyx became occupied with their work and forged their own path. Nyx laments being so distant from their own parent, as they haven't spoken since the beginning of creation. ![]()
